Construction Industry Survey
The Construction Survey was launched in 2010 along the lines of the Industrial Survey. As a business opinion survey, it is intended to capture trends in activity and expectations of entrepreneurs in the construction industry. The survey is carried out monthly in partnership with 23 Federations of Industry and the Brazilian Chamber of Construction Industry (CBIC). Results are presented by company size and activity sectors.
High interest rates consolidate as the main problem faced by the sector
Construction business owners’ concern about high interest rates has been the highest since 2023. For the third consecutive quarter, high interest rates topped the ranking of the main problems faced by the Construction Industry. The problem was cited by 40% of companies, the second highest percentage in the series, behind only the 40.8% recorded in the 2nd quarter of 2023. The top four positions in the ranking are completed by the high tax load, the lack or high cost of unskilled labor, and the lack or high cost of skilled workers. Most financial condition indices fell in the quarter, reflecting more negative assessments: greater dissatisfaction with profitability and worsening access to credit.
