Performance of Brazilian Industry

The annual publication "Performance of Brazilian Industry" presents Brazil's share in world manufacturing exports and in world manufacturing value added. These indicators are also calculated for Brazil's major trading partners. The annual updating of the performance indicators allows tracking the evolution of Brazilian’s industry competitiveness. The comparison of Brazil’s performance with other countries reflects its competitiveness.

Brazilian manufactured goods regain share in the global market

In 2016, Brazilian manufactured goods recovered competitiveness in the global market, even though the gain was small. Brazil’s share in world manufacturing exports increased from 0.59% in 2015 to 0.61% in 2016. The depreciation of the Brazilian currency between 2011 e 2015, and the economic crisis help explain Brazil’s improved export performance. In relation to the share of Brazil in world manufacturing value added, the indicator has remained on a downward trend.
