Construction expectations worsen across the board

Construction industry business expectations deteriorated across the board in July 2026. All expectation indicators declined and crossed below the 50-point threshold, indicating expectations of a decrease in the activity level, purchases of inputs and raw materials, the number of employees, and new ventures and services over the next six months. In the second quarter of 2026, the main problems faced by the Construction Industry remained virtually unchanged. High interest rates continued to rank as the sector’s main obstacle, followed by the high tax load. The lack or high cost of skilled workers moved into third place, surpassing the lack or high cost of unskilled workers.
