The Industry’s importance in Brazil and the Manufacturing’s importance in Brazil present the role of Brazilian industry in the country’s economy. The importance of the sector is measured in production, formal employment and wages, exports, innovation expenditures and collected taxes.


Industry’s importance for Brazil

In 2020, Industry accounted for 32.9% of Brazil’s federal taxes (except social security taxes) and for 29.7% of employer social security contribution. In the year, Industry also accounted for 20.4% of Brazil’s GDP and for 69.2% of Brazilian goods and services exports.
