Industry’s importance for Brazil
Industry as a whole represents 20.4% of Brazil’s GDP, but it’s responsible for 69.2% of exports, 69.2% of business R&D spending and for 33% of federal taxes (except social security taxes). Each BRL 1.00 produced in Industry, generates BRL 2.43 for the Brazilian economy. In the other sectors, a lower value is generated: BRL 1.75 in Agriculture and BRL 1.49 in Services.
