The Industry in Figures presents measures of Brazilian industry performance in the short-term. A set of selected indicators describes the current situation of industry, for instance, production, employment, sales and exports. Structural statistics shows the importance of industry in Brazilian economy, its competitiveness and sectoral dynamics.


Brazilian Industry in Figures

Selected short-term and structural indicators – production, level of inventories, business confidence, costs, and productivity, among others. In May 2020, the Business Confidence Index kept a record low level, at 34.7 points. The lack of confidence is a reflex of the slowdown in economic activity due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the uncertainty that it brings.
