The Industry in Figures presents measures of Brazilian industry performance in the short-term. A set of selected indicators describes the current situation of industry, for instance, production, employment, sales and exports. Structural statistics shows the importance of industry in Brazilian economy, its competitiveness and sectoral dynamics.


Brazilian Industry in Figures

Selected short-term and structural indicators – production, level of inventories, business confidence, costs, productivity, among others. In May 2020, industrial production rose 7%, mostly due to a recovery in production of the sectors Motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, Beverages, Other transport equipment, Leather and footwear and Furniture. Despite the recovery, the level of production in industry in May 2020 is 21.9% lower than that observed in May 2019.
