The Industry in Figures presents measures of Brazilian industry performance in the short-term. A set of selected indicators describes the current situation of industry, for instance, production, employment, sales and exports. Structural statistics shows the importance of industry in Brazilian economy, its competitiveness and sectoral dynamics.


Brazilian Industry in Figures

The publication presents short term and structural indicators – production, level of inventories, business confidence, costs, productivity, among others. In the December 2020 edition, the highlight lies with production data. Industry’s share in GDP rose from 21.1% in 2017 to 21.8% in 2018. In 2019, it fell again (to 21.4%), but it remained above what was observed in 2016 and 2017.
