The Industry in Figures presents measures of Brazilian industry performance in the short-term. A set of selected indicators describes the current situation of industry, for instance, production, employment, sales and exports. Structural statistics shows the importance of industry in Brazilian economy, its competitiveness and sectoral dynamics.
Brazilian Industry in Figures
The publication presents short term and structural indicators – production, level of inventories, business confidence, costs, productivity, among others. In the March 2020 edition, the highlight lies with Industry’s share in GDP. The indicator fell from 21.4%, in 2019, to 20.4%, in 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The indicator of 2020 is a record low in the time series, that ranges from 1947 to 2020.
