ICEI - Industrial Sectors
The ICEI, as a precursor index of industrial performance, signals changes in industrial production trends. The survey that gathers the necessary information to the construction of the ICEI is made in conjunction with the Industrial Survey and the Construction Industry Survey. The ICEI – Industrial Sectors displays results from the mining and quarrying, construction and manufacturing industries, as well as their sectors. The publication also makes confidence indexes available for the three company sizes (small, medium and large) and for the five geographic regions of Brazil.
2026 begins showing a lack of confidence in most sectors
In January 2026, the Industrial Businessman Confidence Index (ICEI) presented predominantly positive variations across the research cuts, indicating an improvement in business owners' sentiment at the beginning of the year, although the lack of confidence still prevails in the majority of the industry.
