ICEI - Industrial Sectors
The ICEI, as a precursor index of industrial performance, signals changes in industrial production trends. The survey that gathers the necessary information to the construction of the ICEI is made in conjunction with the Industrial Survey and the Construction Industry Survey. The ICEI – Industrial Sectors displays results from the mining and quarrying, construction and manufacturing industries, as well as their sectors. The publication also makes confidence indexes available for the three company sizes (small, medium and large) and for the five geographic regions of Brazil.
Declines prevail, and lack of confidence spreads among industries
In February 2026, the Industrial Businessman Confidence Index (ICEI) presented mostly negative results across the sectors analyzed. With a predominance of declines, lack of confidence prevails in most of the industry, with most sectors remaining below the 50-point dividing.
