The Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI) will hold the 17th edition of its Diplomatic Briefing on Friday, July 15, 2022, from 10 am to 11:35 am at CNI, Edifício Roberto Simonsen - SBN Qd. 1 - Bloco C - Auditorium - 15th. floor.
This event is the greatest opportunity for interaction between the diplomatic corps residing in Brasilia.
In this edition, CNI's representatives will discuss the outlook and perspectives of the Brazilian political-economic scenario and will present their preparations for COP 27 and the industry’s proposals for the 2022 elections in Brazil. A guided visit to the National Industry Observatory will be held after the meeting, in the CNI building.
The event will be attended exclusively by representatives of the foreign diplomatic corps residing in Brasilia and will have simultaneous Portuguese/English translation.

Director of Institucional Relations
Mônica Messenberg holds a degree in Economics and a Master in International Economy from the University of Brasilia (UnB). She serves as Director of Institucional Relations at the National Confederation of Industry (CNI). Prior to joining CNI in 2010, Ms. Mônica Messenberg had worked for 15 years in Planning and Controlling areas, Development, Implementation and Administration of programs for the Brazilian government, where she occupied a high-level position.
Mário Sérgio Carraro Telles
Executive Manager of the Economics Department
Mário Sérgio Carraro Telles, holds a degree in Economics from UFMG and a Master's degree in Economics from CEDEPLAR/UFMG. With 23 years of experience in the industrial sector, he was manager of the economics department at the Federation of Industries of Minas Gerais (FIEMG) and, for the last 16 years, has worked with fiscal and tax policy at CNI. He also taught as Professor of Economics at UFMG, at Centro Universitário Newton Paiva, and at Rede de Ensino Doctum.
Renato da Fonseca
Industrial Development Superintendent
Doctor in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and Industrial Development Superintendent at the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry. Responsible for the analysis and preparation of studies and public policy proposals in the areas of industrial policy and foreign trade. He coordinates CNI's strategic agenda as outlined in the Strategic Map for Industry and publications derived from it.
He has worked at CNI since 1997 and was previously Superintendent of Economics, responsible for analyzing and proposing economic policies and preparing CNI's Economic Indicators.
He has carried out several studies in the areas of foreign trade, productivity, and competitiveness of Brazilian industry. He was Professor of Economics at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and in the Master’s in Business Administration program at the Candido Mendes University.
