SENAI alumnus wins medal in WorldSkills China international friendly competition
The SENAI representative from Paraná won the 3rd place in the International Exchange Competition in Interactive Digital Media Design, a new skill of the competition being tested by China
Erán completed the technical course in Mechatronics in Curitiba
There is a medal coming to Brazil and it comes straight from China! The Brazilian National Service for Industrial Service (SENAI) Paraná alumnus, Erán Martínez Ramos, shone in an international friendly competition promoted by WorldSkills China, which tested an occupation still in proposal phase: Digital Interactive Media Design (DIMD).
From June 1 to 4, 2025, competitors from five countries participated in the International Exchange Competition for the Newly Proposed Skill Digital Interactive Media Design, a pilot event that simulated the mold of a WorldSkills occupation. The result: bronze medal for Brazil on this unprecedented journey!
“Even though it was a friendly contest, this was my first medal in a world-class competition, so I was very happy. This medal is very special, not only for the knowledge it provided me, but also for the cultural experience, the challenges faced and the inspiration it brought me. It was especially difficult to compete at dawn, in English, and this made everything even more challenging and enriching”, says Erán.
The new occupation is being proposed by WorldSkills China to integrate future editions of the world professional education competition. The challenge is to bring together skills in digital design, interactivity, programming and animation, all aimed at creating digital experiences on platforms such as apps, e-commerce and interactive software .
The event was organized by Guangzhou-China Technical Institute of Communications (home of the 48th WorldSkills International), with technical support from Beijing Beice Digital Technology Co. Ltd.
It all started with an invitation to the future
At the end of March, SENAI Paraná participated in an international online training, which presented the technical standards of the skill, the competition environment, the resources necessary for preparation and the expected professional practices. The proposal drew attention for its relevance to the digital industry, for the synergy with our courses and for the feasibility of participation.
From this, the institution worked on the preparation of a talent that had already stood out in the state selection of the Industry 4.0 modality: Erán, former student of the technical course in Mechatronics of the SENAI unit Dr. Celso Charuri, in Curitiba, who had won second place in the state contest.
The conversations with the organizing team progressed and SENAI Paraná started to represent Brazil in the occupation development initiative.
The competition brought together seven competitors from five countries: Brazil, China, Armenia, Ethiopia and Nigeria. The challenges involved the creation of interactive and multimedia digital content, combining graphic design, video production, animation, UX/UI, and softwarelogic. All focused on visual communication and user experience.

A step forward for Brazil at WorldSkills
If the occupation is confirmed as official in the next edition of WorldSkills, Brazil will have a great chance of winning a spot and SENAI Paraná has already started ahead.
More than a medal, this participation demonstrates how the institution is connected to market transformations, training professionals to work in strategic areas such as IT, e-commerce, digital marketing, games, artificial intelligence and augmented reality.
"This achievement places Brazil among the protagonists of vocational training on the international stage. SENAI Paraná's performance in this friendly contest reinforces our commitment to training professionals prepared for the challenges of the future, which have already begun. The interactive digital media design modality dialogues with the digital transformation of industries and with the growing demand for creative, technological and user experience-centered solutions. We are proud to contribute to the evolution of WorldSkills and, above all, to inspire our young people to reach higher and higher flights”, says Jacielle Feltrin Vila Verde Ribeiro, senior vocational training manager at SENAI Paraná.
