Jordan gains close knowledge of Brazilian experiences in sanitation, agriculture and innovation

A Jordanian mission is in Brazil until September 30, exploring Brazilian projects and good practices in sanitation, vocational training, biodiversity and family farming.

The mission, organized by the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), includes technical visits to Brazilian institutions such as the Brazilian National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI), the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio), the Department of Health of the Federal District (DF) and the University Center of Patos de Minas (UNIPAM), in cities such as Brasília, Cuiabá, Belo Horizonte and Patos de Minas.

Jordanian experts met sewage treatment plants with upflow anaerobic reactor (UASB) technology, composting plants, national parks, and family farming and innovation projects.

The initiative is developed under the Technical Cooperation Agreement signed between Brazil and Jordan in 2018 and ratified in 2022, reinforcing the commitment of both countries to sustainable development and the exchange of good practices through South-South cooperation.

According to Melissa Popoff, ABC Project Analyst, “the mission allows Jordanian experts to get to know the Brazilian reality closely, subsidizing future technical cooperation actions and strengthening strategic bilateral relations”.
