SESI, SENAI and IEL provide international consulting services to the Brazilian industrial companies with operations abroad, foreign governments and institutions working on the same field as we. We design customized solutions in training and access to technology, taking into account economic feasibility, socioeconomic conditions and local capacity. We have an extensive network of partners and provide services in 45 countries in five continents.
Technical training centers abroad
In a partnership with the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), SENAI implemented nine technical education centers in Angola, Cape Verde, East Timor, Guatemala, Guiné-Bissau, Jamaica, Paraguay, Peru and São Tomé and Príncipe. All these centers are now in operation and benefiting thousands of students, besides providing local job markets with qualified workers. A new center in Haiti is in early implementation phase.
Inspired by the ideals of South-South cooperation, our projects promote industrial and socioeconomic development through the strengthening of local technical education capabilities with a view to providing the conditions for investment and economic growth.
Phases in the implementation of technical training centers abroad:
Building: the building of the physical structure, purchase and installation of equipment and training of trainers in basic technologies and the technologies with the highest demanded
Capacity strengthening: the addition of new technological areas, further training of trainers, management training
Institutional strengthening: process optimization and new teaching methods and management approaches
Management devolution: completion of the co-management phase and full assumption of all center management functions by the partner entity
Examples of service abroad
Professional Qualification Center SENAI Paraguay
Implemented in 2002, in the city of Hernandarias, the Professional Qualification Center in Paraguay had the purpose of forming qualified labor for the region of Alto Paraná for service to the increasing industrialization of the region bordering Brazil and Argentina.
The areas attended were: electro-electronics, automotive mechanics, informatics, civil construction and metal mechanics. The regional department of SENAI in Parana stayed ahead of the technical coordination execution for 11 years, providing its human and technical resources.
SENAI Guatemala Professional Training Center
As a result of a partnership between SENAI, the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) and the Technical Institute for Training and Productivity of Guatemala (lntecap), the Huehuetenango Professional Training Center was built in 2012 in the city of the same name and became a regional reference for training of new instructors and competitors for international tournaments.
The center offers courses in the fields of metal-mechanics, food production, electro-electronics and automotive mechanics. Entrepreneurship, environment and safety at work are transversal disciplines to all the courses offered in the unit. Companies of the region have the center as a point of support for the qualification of their staff and improvement of the industrial productive performance.
JICA-SENAI trilateral project in Ecuador
A partir de acordo entre Japão e Equador, a Agência de Cooperação Internacional do Japão (JICA) convidou o SENAI para contribuir no treinamento de instrutores e examinadores do Serviço Equatoriano de Capacitação e Formação Profissional (SECAP) em formação baseada em competências laborais e administração de cursos com base em controle de qualidade.
O projeto trilateral foi executado entre junho e agosto de 2013. Os resultados alcançados foram: elaboração de perfis profissionais, consolidação de currículos e planos de aula, construção de instrumentos de avaliação de processos de formação com base em competências laborais; elaboração de instrumentos para a certificação laboral de pessoas, e gestão de processos de formação sob padrões de qualidade.
Based on an agreement between Japan and Ecuador, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) invited SENAI to contribute to the training of instructors and examiners of the Ecuadorian Service of Professional Qualification and Training (SECAP) in skills-based training and management of courses based on quality control.
